Week of 11/29

It's business as usual this week. We are still in the waxing part of this marking period, and I feel very comfortable with the amount of work that is left to be done. This work includes completing any existing Auto-CAD drawings, production of the product, and another formal progress update. I will focus primarily on my Auto-CAD drawings again this week, and I will look to finish them this week. Tuesday is a lost day as I have a field trip for my Economics class. This will push my log back to Wednesday, and will result in an accelerated work week. I feel I am ready to match this level of work with an even higher level of diligence and determination.

Update 11/24

The reason I am logging today, a Wednesday, is because I will not be in school on Friday so I want to get my second log for the week in before it's too late. Yesterday was a fairly productive day, and I am almost satisfied with the Auto-CAD drawings I have produced thus far. I am looking to add one more Auto-CAD drawing to my portfolio in order to create an even more accurate representation of my drawing. This idea will require a lot more work and I am not sure if it is worth my time as I will be expected to begin the production stage of my project soon. I will update you with my GOW on Monday, so until then goodbye and have a lovely Thanksgiving.

Update 11/23

Yesterday was a very proactive day. I was able to put a lot of work into my Auto-CAD drawing as well as do a large portion of my procedure. Today will be a continuation of the same topics worked on yesterday. With the advancement of my Auto-CAD drawings comes a more realistic idea of what my senior project will actually be like, and that is quite exciting. I still need to finish my developmental work, and I do admit that it is taking longer than I would have liked, but I am doing my best to ensure a higher level of quality in compensation of the extended time frame. Thank you.

Week of 11/22

We have a shortened week this week because Thanksgiving is Thursday. That means that I need to turn up the work level in order to stay on track for the marking period. I would like to see a resolution to my Auto-CAD drawings this week as well as the completion of the developmental work. This will allow me to move on to different areas of my project. These future areas include another formal progress update, participation, a news letter, and of course the actual creation of the finished product. It is very exciting to see the progression to date, and I am excited to see what else I can create. Enjoy your turkey day.

Update 11/19

This week was devoted to trying to finish off my developmental work and I regret to post that I was able to finish the entirity. That means that next week, which is a shortened week, will need to have some portion of it focused on developmental work. This week I was also able to update my calendar to reflect the dates of the second marking period. I still need to fill these in more intricately, but for now it gives my audience a very clear idea of the time table of events that the second quarter encompasses. I hope to finish all of my developmental work on either Monday or Tuesday and will log accordingly. Thank you.

Update 11/16

Yesterday I was able to refine some of my Auto-CAD drawings. Now they are at a more professional level, but there is still work to be done. I need to continue to improve my drawings and that is what I will devote today to. I will also look to have my review with my teachers today, as the past few days they have been unable to. If I am able to reach a level of satisfaction with my drawings today, I will try and refine my developmental work, as I feel I could do better. Thank you.

Week of 11/15

It is the beginning of the new marking period and the first marking period was a great success. This week I will begin production of my final model and that process will be carried out throughout the next two marking periods. Also this week, I will have my review with my teachers about my formal progress update and will learn how I fared on that item. I am proud of the presentation I gave, and look forward to their review. First item of business is translating my model into a final product, and that will not be an easy task.

Update 11/12

The week is completed and so is the marking period. I have done very well so far this week with completing my mentor contacts as well as having a conference regarding my formal progress update. I received much commendation for my report and they were very impressed. There are five primary goals that stem from the next marking period. They are class participation, formal progress update, press release, mentor contacts, and work that is done in class. These tasks are vital to my completion of the project and I will continue to put my best effort forward into completing these tasks. Let's go.

Update 11/9

Today is being devoted to mentor contacts. I need to write up the five interactions I have had with my two mentors, respectively. That is four meetings with JW and one with DF. The rest of the class needs to finish their presentations tomorrow which means I will not be able to do much for my project, but a day off can be refreshing. Marking period two is fast approaching and that will bring a new list of challenges that need to be accomplished. I look forward to the chance to continue working on my unique project.

Week of 11/8

Much of the class still needs to do their formal progress update presentations, but thankfully my partner and I are finished with that task. This week will be devoted to preparing my mentor contacts and finishing up the first marking period. I am proud of the work that I did this first quarter and look forward to the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more!

Isometric Drawing

The above is an Auto-CAD rendering of the visual representation of our final solution. The purpose of this drawing is to show the location of the batteries and motor in our design. Thank you.

Week of 11/1

This week is hectic, to say the least. Tomorrow is my formal progress update, and I have a lot of preparing to do tonight. The presentation needs to be five minutes long and will serve as a summary of all my work to date. It will include my design brief, specs and limits, developmental work, and imagery. This is a giant workload, but I have been completing it throughout the year. I am excited for this opportunity to explain my project to my peers. Wish me luck.
